You can find more information in description of module Web Catalog.

AdaptabilityNew information system Tritius is designed as general information system allowing record keeping of every collection of items.

Thanks to almost unlimited variability of data structure of records it's possible to keep items of all kinds. Not only regular documents from library (books, periodicals, musical media) but also specific items as map materials, technical drawings, constraction plans, contracts and many others. All is possible to be defined on the level of system configuration.

We count with implementation of few other default configurations based on futher requirements.

It's allowed to use library standards as well as configurate your owns based on special needs.

You can find more information in text dedicated to Standards support.

User interface

User interface We understand how important is high quality and user-friendly interface.

We used our experience from previous systems but also we tried to design new modern user interface without bad influence of historical needs and limits. We put emphasis on intuitivity for new users as well as on optimalization based on real experience of using.

Thanks to the latest technologies of current browsers, the web interface of system Tritius is fully comparable with original desktop applications in richness of controls, response time and overal user comfort. By this Tritius differs significantly from regular web applications.

For everyday using comfort of user interface is crucial feature of every system. Therefore we implemented in Tritius advanced features which are not usual in regular web applicaitons. System supports keyboard shortcuts, fast searching by typing in tables and others.

System Triitus is designed to keep more separated organization units in one database. Organization unit can be library, subsidiary or workplaces. It allows sharing data across all organization units despite their location.

System Tritius allows users easy manipulation with own data as well as with shared data. This means working with own data without worries they will be available to someone else as well as their easy sharing in the case of requirement. Naturally Tritius includes searching and presenting of all common data or selected organization units.

Thanks to these essential features of system Tritius there is great opportunity to create groups of libraries (in state, area, city etc.) with one shared system. It provides complex catalog of area and offers many advantages:

  • sharing of bibliographic record of authorities and works,
  • sharing of user accounts (one reader's card across all),
  • optimalization of acquisition of new items within cooperating libraries.

Tritius also significantly simplifies administration and configuration Tritius by specially developed tools allowing hierarchical configuration. Every group of libraries, library, group of users and even user can specific setting share (inherited from superior unit) or can have own one. This tool is develepoed on the basis of long-time experience with administration of shared systems within many organization units.

Standards support

Our aim is to enable and facilitate connection and cooperation of Tritius with the world around - with other organizations and systems. We undestand how important is to support standards in this task.

We support all modern standards for integration with other systems:

Our long-term goal is to apply international library standards in the simpliest way which helps and leads less experienced users.

Currently system internally supports all main library standards:

New library system Tritius is set to use internal format MARC21 with using of rules RDA (before also AACR2). Using of different format is only about configuration of system and it's possible to define any MARC formats.

Optionally you can use FRBR method to categorize works and clarify the results of the searching of large funds of more libraries stored in one system.

OAI-PMH protocol is available for batch transfer of records. Tritius includes provider for providing of data as well as harverster for collecting data.

Thanks to Unicode standard Tritius supports all national alphabets with more than 100 000 characters.

All texts is allowed to write in standard Latin script (Roman script) as well as in Cyrillic script (azbuka), Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and many others. For easier typing the feature of virtual keyboard with predefined special characters is available.

However support of international characters is not limited only to text insertion but is also reflected in all features and outputs. For example searching is configurable that you can set replacement of non-standard character by the most similar one. Then Tritius allows searching for users who don't have special characters available on their keyboards.

RFID technology

Tritius is designed and optimalized for new technologies of batch processing.

On the basis of our previous experiences with libraries using RFID technology, the Lending protocol module is developed with focus on RFID (or barcodes).

RFID chips allow primarily batch processing of items which means mainly loading more items (documents) at the same time. New system Tritius is design to deal with all of that.

System includes optional support for self-service machines for lending and returning using standard protocols.

Payment gateway

Tritius allows readers to pay online fees through integrated payment gateway.
Readers can pay various fees (such as renewal of registration) and any debts at any time, from anywhere.
The integrated payment gateway allows readers to pay via standard bank card payments and so-called payment buttons - online payments directly through online banking for the most used banks.

Modules description

First step to create electronic catalog is cataloguing  of one work. Every cataloged object is built by fields like title, author, publication date etc. Tritius is designed to meet standard MARC21 and rules RDA or AACR2. By default Tritius contains complete definition of MARC21 format for documents and authorities. However it's prepared to any custom changes of basic field definitions or adding new user defined ones beyond MARC21 standard.

Standard part of this module is built-in Z39.50 passive client.

Tritius contains fully prepared forms especially for these types of works:
